Jacob DeRue is an associate attorney supporting the firm’s community association department, handling all manner of such needs, including general litigation, advice regarding governance and dispute resolution, rules enforcement, and collections. He also works in the business litigation and corporate law practice groups.
Mr. DeRue received his undergraduate degree in Political Science, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology, summa cum laude, from Thiel College and his law degree from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. DeRue interned for the Honorable Charles J. Siragusa of the Western District of New York. While in law school, Mr. DeRue was a member of the Journal of Law, Economics, and Policy. He also served as the Pro Bono Pledge Coordinator for the George Mason Pro Bono Society, promoting pro bono work for law students. Further, he was a member of the Judges Committee in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and the Vice President of Media Relations for the Scalia Law Trial Advocacy Association.
