Interesting article in Accounting Today regarding big changes coming in the PCAOB inspection process, more PCAOB #oversight in the use of technology such as data analytics and artificial intelligence, and increased outreach to financial statement preparers. As I previewed in a June 14, 2018 article for Law360, “What to Expect from PCAOB’s Ongoing Transition,” the new Board members plan significant changes to the PCAOB #inspection process and #inspection reports with a greater focus on accounting firm #qualitycontrol systems, planning, report writing, remediation, root cause analyses, the hashtag#qualitycontrol standards, and inspection procedures. For example, the Board would like to be more timely, relevant, and balanced in our inspection reports and other communications.
