Changes in leadership continue at the PCAOB as Helen Munter, Director of Registration and Inspections and Gordon Seymour, General Counsel depart this month. Ms. Munter has been with the PCAOB for 14 years, and Mr. Seymour for 15 years. The PCAOB shakeup began with the SEC’s wholesale replacement of the Board with five new members, including Chairman Duhnke. Based on the April 17, 2018 press release regarding the new strategic plan (“Following the recent appointment of five new Board members, the PCAOB is taking a fresh look at the organization and its future direction in fulfilling its mission”) and senior departures to date, I expect further changes to the organization and strategy of the PCAOB this year.
